Arnos Grove Library now open!

We’re very happy to announce that the Arnos Grove branch of the library had its first session last Friday. Sessions will be continuing each Friday morning, 9:15-11:15am, until the Christmas holidays.

Our hosts are the St. Paul’s Church Hall playgroup – a very friendly group with lots of toys for the little ones, and the tea and biscuits are also plentiful! My three year old was certainly sufficiently entertained for me to be able to chat about slings for a while.

Toddy and Kate will be on hand every week to show you the slings and carriers we have available to hire and to help you find one to suit you. They are both experienced babywearers – Toddy is a mum of three and Kate has been using slings with her twins since they were tiny – and between them they have a wealth of knowledge to share. I will also popping by every few weeks to help out – I’m a qualified babywearing consultant (Trageschule Certified and Je Porte Mon Bebe) and still carry my three year old son (when I can catch him!)

Our selection of slings is growing week by week – at the moment we have a small selection of mei tais, stretchy wraps, woven wraps, buckle carriers, ring slings and pouches. For more information about what we have available to hire, please take a look at our Facebook Page – the pages on this website will be updated over the next few weeks.

Hire costs start at a very reasonable £5 for 2 weeks, more expensive slings cost more to hire. We also ask for a deposit in cash or by cheque for the retail price of the sling in case it gets lost or is damaged – this will be returned to you in full on return of the carrier in good condition.

We look forward to seeing you at a future session of the library!
