About

North London Sling Library was set up in 2012 as we noticed there was a lack of support for new and existing sling users in our local area – the nearest libraries being in south London and Harrow, both of which are difficult to get to for parents in north London. We all have a great passion for slings and love to promote it and enable other parents in any way possible, so we pooled our resources and started a library operating from a popular playgroup every Friday morning. We aim to offer a professional service to library customers – one of us is a qualified sling consultant (Trageschule Certified, Je Porte Mon Bebe and Slingababy) and another studied with Trageschule UK for a foundation qualification in April 2013.

The first branch of the library, in Arnos Grove, officially opened at the end of November 2012, and we have already had a massive amount of interest and appreciation from the local community.  We are lucky to have been offered space for a second branch of the library at the Nappy Ever After cloth nappy shop, which is located just 5 minutes walk from the major transport hub of Kings Cross St Pancras station which opened on 31st July 2013. In January 2014 we decided to re-locate the Arnos Grove library to the Wood Green/Turnpike Lane borders in the hope of being more central to reach more people!  We are starting to hold weekend sessions due to popular demand so keep a check on this site for details of those!  We want to ensure we reach as many people as possible and help everyone discover the many benefits of carrying your child.
